Catfishing Targeting Teen Boys
In the first five months of this year, police received 48 sextortion reports mainly targeting teenage boys. “I think it’s very important to note, as well, that we really believe this to be quite underreported,” Staff Sgt. Police say the sextortion cases mostly involve teenage boys. Online Streaming Bill
The online streaming bill will generate at least $1 billion a year for Canada’s creative sector, including Indigenous programs, Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez told a committee of MPs on Monday.
The Heritage Department originally said the online streaming bill would generate around $830 million a year by making streaming services fund Canadian creative work, as traditional broadcasters do now.
Breach Exposed Students & Staff
The data breach occurred Dec. 1 and technology vendor Battelle for Kids notified CPS on April 26, the district said Friday. A server used to store student and staff information was breached and four years’ worth of records were accessed, CPS said.
Illuminate Education Massive Breach
The New York City Department of Education is calling it quits with a software company whose data breach has impacted at least 820,000 public school students. School principals on Tuesday were asked to cease using any Illuminate Education products and services at the end of this school year, according to a memo obtained by The Post.
